Laybel Interiors Ltd (LIL) was established in 2015.
The Directors of Laybel Interiors Ltd; Paul Belcher and Paul Layzell have vast experience and knowledge working on high end interior and exterior fit out contracts over the past 25 years.
In recent years, within the London area, we have carried out several single and double basement excavations in tandem with the overall ‘fit out’ of the same properties. These developments have been successfully constructed both safety and without external/neighbour issue for our clients. We consider ourselves specialists within the basement field and therefore we partner with basement specialists and oversee and manage the works with our own team of experienced SMSTS managers and safety supervisors.
LIL work within the local authorities “considerate contractors scheme”.
Laybel Interiors Ltd undertakes the root and branch construction work for any development you are considering, including the development and the installation of the structural, electrical, mechanical, joinery and specialist finish installations. We provide the service setting out for the specialist joinery, working closely with the architects and designers to achieve our clients wishes.

Project Approach / Methodology

• Development and agreement to the sequenced programme for the works.
• Early appointment of major subcontractors, to enable works to commence smoothly.
In addition, we highlighted factors we believe are key to success to all our projects.

Works progress will be monitored daily and recorded at the weekly production meetings, and updated short term programmes will be issued regularly. Progress bar charts will also be produced monthly, recording as-built projected on-going and scheduled time period.

Quality
We recognise that to successfully deliver all projects to the expectations of the Client with this building, quality will play the most important role.
We know defects that arise following the completion of the project will cause frustration to the Client and the professional team. Levels of comfort, functionality and the environment will all play an important role in the perception of the end product.
We recognise that the project of this nature it will be difficult and inconvenient for us to access it after occupation and therefore our goal must be to handover a defect free building, which is fully commissioned and operable.
Laybel Interiors Limited has quality management procedures that all operatives and contractors work to. We believe that quality is the responsibility of every individual of the team.
We have a restricted list of domestic sub contractors we employ. Experience has shown us that the cheapest sub contractor is not always the best and the pool of subcontractors to which we resort has been vetted by our own, in house quality control reporting procedures. These reports are co-ordinate by a single member of staff. Before we enter into a sub contract, the recorded past performance of the sub contractor will be investigated by the Contacts Director, Estimator Surveyor, Site manager and subcontract buyer.
The ultimate responsibility for quality will rest with Contracts Director; however each member of the team will have their own part to play in quality management.
Laybel Interiors Limited will take ownership and ensure all work is executed as specified.
In order to plan a defect free project the following elements are:
- Initial Quality team meeting
- Identification of key risk trades
- Ensure that Laybel Interiors Ltd Supervision understand the specification
- Ensure that subcontractors’ staff understands the requirements
- Setting the standard
- Maintaining the standard
- Keeping the required records
Despite best efforts and our aim for zero defects in managing our own tradesman and those of our subcontractors, it is inevitable that there will be some snagging to manage. In order to achieve a successful defect free handover we will implement a robust process for managing this important ant aspect of the project.
